Nowhere! I'm still here! SEE? I'm doing a post right now!
The truth is, I haven't had time for blogging lately, and I miss it a lot! It's like, my favorite after school activity, but it's been getting pushed out of the way :( By lots and lots and lots of homework. Personally, I think the teachers have secret meetings and are like "Let's drown them in homework this week. Mahahaha." Mahahaha was supposed to be an evil laugh...anyway, they really don't do that, but it sure feels like it sometimes. Like this whole week. And last week.
Well, I gotta go. More homework. And no, I'm not kidding.
Missing blogging and hating homework,
anna :)

... but that's just me
I trip and look back to see nothing but air...but that's just me.
I can multi-task! I can talk with my hands and accidently hit people in the face at the same time! But that's just me...
I'm the girl who notices George Washington's silhouette in the shower...but that's just me.
I make up random songs to Taylor the Latte Boy about my friends...but that's just me.
Sarah the soccer chick
She can score and she can kick
Sarah the soccer chick
She's awesome, she's awesome, she's awesome
I burst into High School Musical tunes in the middle of the hallway...but that's just me.
I wanna dance everytime Taylor Swift's "I'm Only Me When I'm With You" comes on...but that's just me.
I'm on the academic team, yet no one calls me a geek...but that's just me.
I hate history class, although I LOVE National Treasure...but that's just me.
I protess to the whole world that I'm a Jesus Freak...but that's just me. :):)

giving thanks...and catching up on sleep!
Just wanted to let ya'll know I won't be posting for the rest of this week. I will return December 1st, and I promise to have a G2G post ready! Everything's been so hectic lately I haven't even had the time to do a decent post. Uhh...sleep sounds so good right about now. I've been rushing back and forth 24/7. Between church and youth group, my home-life, my social-life, art club, academic team, basketball games, homework, and blogging, I never get to take a breather. So that's what I'm doing this week. TRY to do anyway. It won't be easy, I can tell ya that. 'Cuz I'm getting up on Black Friday to get me some good deals! :) :) But anyway, have a great Thanksgiving. Stuff your face with turkey, watch the Macy's Day Parade, and most importantly, count your blessings. And thank the One who blessed you with them.

This song really touched me. I don't know why, but I was just like--WOW. And I was looking for a really good song to post and it was like God said loud and clear, "Hey, here it is!" Hope you like it as much as I do :)

giving thanks...and giving it.
Here's a poem I wrote when I was, uh, in 6th grade I think. It's sorta cheesy, but I thought it was cute enough to post.
There's so many things I'm thankful for
It's hard to count them all
My mom, my dad, my sister, too
We're all for one and one for all
My friends come next on my long list
Of the things of thankful for
Inside jokes and lots of laughs
And hopefully many more
But there's Someone more important
Who saved me from my sin
Alpha, Omega He's always been
Jesus Christ, my very Best Friend.
And the reason I posted it, well it's the truth. I am thankful for them--and it seems like I've never had time to tell them that. There's so many more things I'm grateful for--food, clothes, a home. Millions of people around the world don't have any of these. So remember, Thanksgiving isn't about getting thanks. It's about giving it to our Savior who laid down His life for us, and always has His arms wide open.
Giving thanks for Him,
anna :)

the word is out! :D
We've all been anticipating it. The next Sherwood Picture. From the creators of Flywheel, Facing the Giants, and Fireproof comes a new movie called Courageous. What's it about? Well...i got it straight from the website. :)
Four men, one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, they face danger every day. Yet when tragedy strikes close to home, these fathers are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, and their faith. From this struggle will come a decision that changes all of their lives. With action, drama, and humor, the fourth film from Sherwood Pictures embraces God’s promise to "turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers." Souls will be stirred, and hearts will be challenged to be ... courageous!
So what do YOU think? Does it sound great? Or totally blah? Leave a comment to let me know!
Honestly, I love all of their movies. I think they keep getting better and better. And if that's the case, this one is going to be amazing.
Can't wait,
anna :)

randomness friday: interview with maggie!
1. Where'd you get the idea for Behind the Teen Scene?
I got the idea for Behind the Teen Scene this summer. I really wanted to start a blog because I had been reading blogs for a year and a half and I thought it would be fun to have my own blog. I asked my parents and though told me I could. I had a message board at the time, but I had a pull on my heart that I should start a blog, and thats what I am doing. :)
2. What's your favorite thing to post--photos, recipes, Bible verses, etc.
Thats a hard question! I love posting them all, but my favorite would have to be posting pictures. I am just getting back into taking alot of pictures. I took pictures before I started a blog, but no where near as many as I do now having a blog. Now I take my camera with me everywhere.
3. What's your favorite book? Why? And who's it by?
My favorite book is Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls. It is an amazing book and I love a classic every once and a while.
4. When it comes to movies...what's your favorite?
I love the Disney classics! Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and more! lol, I am still a kid movie lover at heart. :)
5. Would you ever consider starting another blog? If so, what would you call it?
Actually, I have been considering making another blog lately. I can't decide between a devotional blog, photography blog, or a cooking blog. :) We will have to see what the name of it will be, I haven't gotton to that point yet.
6. Who do you look up to? What are some traits they display?
I look up to many people, from my mom, to teachers, and even older girls at my school that I know. They have patience, humility, amazing personalities, and many traits that I want to work on in my own life.
7. Favorite Bible verse?
My favorite Bible verse changes depending on the day or week. This week it is 1 Corinthians 13, which really pulled at my heart yesterday while I was reading it.

God bless our troops.
If you don't know, today is Veterans' Day. So I'm giving a HUGE thanks to all those who've fought in the war, or helped out in any way. And I'm asking my readers to simply remember our soldiers that are still fighting out there somewhere. Pray for them--its the least we can do. They risk their lives on a daily basis so that America can be a free country. Many of them have left behind their families (like in this music video) and girlfriends and boyfriends and moms and dads...you get the picture. So don't take your freedom for granted. It's priceless.
PLC,
anna :)

short, but sweet :)
Okay, I only have about five minutes to do this post, so it's gonna be pretty short. (I got outta Reading and I'm in the Library...shh! :D)
My dad's best friend's dad passed away Saturday. :'( I thought I'd letcha know so you could be praying. I'd really appreciate it.
And my BFF, Kenzie--well, her back is outta whack. She's really sore. :P
But anyway, I'm having a fairly good day so far! My librarian got my book signed by Laurie Halse Anderson over the weekend! Preettyy awesome :) Oh, the book is "Speak", btw. It's defintely for high school and up. Sorry if I have middle schoolers who read, but you'll be glad you waited. It's not a Christian book, and it has some un-Christian like words in it, but my mom wanted me to read it. It teaches a life-long lesson--one I'll never forget.
Oh, there went the bell! Peace out peeps!
Till next time,

just hush up and look up.
Have you ever prayed a prayer that sounds something like this?
Dear God,
Thanks for sending Jesus to save me. You're great. But there are a few more things that You could do for me...
I really want to make an A on my math test, and then there's this really cute guy that I like. Could You make him like me, too? Thanks. And I was wondering if maybe You could convince mom to buy me that turquoise jacket with the polka-dotted hood at Aeropostale. And You could throw in a pair of Ugg boots while You're at it.
Then my grandma isn't doing to great because of her cancer, so be with her. Be with grandpa too because I think he'll die if he loses her. Thanks again. Goodnight. Oh, and amen.
Now...what's wrong with this picture?
Well, first of all, that was a little bit selfish. Okay, that's definitely an understatement. That prayer was WAAAYYY selfish.
Yeah, they mentioned grandma and grandpa, but that was pretty much it.
But the main thing is that they never gave God a chance to answer. He was probably up there saying, "But--Wait--Hey--!" You know, like when you're talking to one of your friends on the phone and you can't even get two words in. Well, that's probably how God feels sometimes.
He listens to you--no doubt. But the question is: Do you listen to Him? So this week, I challenge you to be quiet for merely five minutes and listen for God's voice.
Or in other words, just hush up and look up :)
PLC,
anna :)

randomess friday :)
I haven't posted...in a whole week? Whoops...well, I am now so...here's my RF post :)
I'd like to thank: Libby--at Girls of Hope--for designing my Christmas buttons. They'll be published soon. No worries there. And Buttercup--at Soaring on Wings like Eagles--she awarded me!
I'm watching: Bonanza.
I <3 Little Joe Cartwright!
Books I'm reading: Dark Blue, another TRUECOLORS book. Love, love, love them! Oh, and I'm still reading the Carter House Girls, too. They are awesome. I'm on the 5th one and I only found them about a month ago :)
Music I'm jamming to: Umm...lately lots of Taylor Swift. And lots more of Kari Jobe. She's a new Christian artist, but she already sounds like a pro--no joke!
In the World of Blogging: So sorry I haven't been around much this week. I think the teachers ganged up on us and gave us boatloads of homework on purpose-jk :D But it did sorta feel that way...
I'm praying for: Beau. He's still in the hospital. But get this--he got to meet Miley Cyrus! While she was on tour, somehow she figured out he was in the hospital and paid him a visit. And my next door neighbor. She just lost her husband to cancer :'(
I'm hoping: Idk. I'm not really hoping anything right now. Well...I AM hoping that my classes will be short and sweet and I can get to lunch...I'm starving!
Can't wait till: Lunch. Duh.
PLC, anna :)

randomness friday the 2nd!
Randomness Friday, as you probably already know, was started by Prism, at agirlofmanycolors.blogspot.com--pretty awesome idea, BTW, Prism. And since a lot of other blogs I follow have Randomness Fridays too, I thought I'd try it. This is my second go at it, so if it's not that great, remember--I'm still a rookie! :)
Books I'm reading: I actually just finished Faded Denim. Another one by Melody Carlson--yeah, yeah, she's my favorite author. But anyway, it was really good, although it has some elements that aren't appropriate for younger girls. I would reccomend this for girls ages ten and up. Maybe even elven. I'm definitely gonna finish off the TRUECOLORS series. No doubt about that. :)
Music I'm jamming to: Taylor Swift's "Christmas Must Be Something More". I don't care if it's Christmas or not--I love it!! :)
I'm writing about: Camryn. My newest character!
I'm praying: For Beau still. And Chris. And one of my BFFs--she's going through a lot right now.
I'm hoping: That everyone's having a great day like I am.
Can't wait till: I get to go over to Aly's! :D
I'm loving: Being just a girl...that's singing my own song!

g2g: they're not laughing at her, they're laughing with her.
Uh-oh...I skipped my Wednesday Girl 2 Girl post! Better get started on it now :)
You might've heard the name "Sarah" mentioned in church once or twice. But she's definitely not as popular as Eve. So who is Sarah? And what does laughing have to do with anything! Keep readin'!
Well, first off, she was Abraham's wife. They had tried for a long time to have kids, but they never had any success. So you know how disappointed she must have felt.
Anyway, one day Abraham was sitting at the entrance to his tent during the hottest part of the day. He looked up, noticed three men standing nearby, and ran to welcome them, bowing low to the ground. They asked to rest under one of his trees, and Abraham agreed.
"Where is Sarah, your wife?" the visitors asked.
"She's inside the tent," Abraham replied.
Then one of them said, "I will return to you about this time next year and your wife, Sarah, will have a son!"
Sarah, good 'ol Sarah, was of course, eavesdropping (did I spell that right? IDK...). Both she and Abraham were very old by this time, and she was long past the age of having children. She laughed to herself and said, "How could a worn-out woman like me enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master--my husband--is as old?
Then the Lord said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, 'Can an old woman like me have a baby?' Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son."
Sure enough, she gave birth to Isaac. Abraham was literally 100 years old when Isaac was born! And she declared, "God has brought me laughter. All who hear about this will laugh with me..."
I'm laughing with her. Not because she was old or anything. I'm laughing because she didn't think God could do it. Tehe :) He can do anything He wants...that's for sure.

you're not alone - not now, not ever.
You're not alone. Not now, not ever. He's always right next to you. You might not be able to see Him, but He's there. Seeing you through the darkest nights. Loving your fears and failures away. And that's what amazes me the most about Him. That He's always there--watching every step I take, every move I make. Waiting to catch me when I fall. Waiting to comfort me when I mess up. Waiting to hold me in His arms. Waiting to whisper in my ear, "You're not alone."

thanks, emii! :D
Thanks so much to Emii, at Girlz 4 God. She named me winner of her "Creativity in Creation Contest"! I didn't think I'd actually win--but I did, so...here's my entry:
He may not be Picasso
He may not be Picasso
Van Gough, Monet, or Warhol
But He is more artistic
But He is more artistic
Than the greatest of them all
He began by splattering sunlight
Across the canvas of the earth
Then added a touch of darkness
But that was just the first
He divided rushing waters
And that left some empty space
Between the heavens and the earth
Then He put the sky in place
He pushed the waters back
And called the dry ground “land”
The waters He labeled “seas”
Both were very grand
He decided to add some color
Lots of plants and trees
That produced fruit of every kind
He took a look and He was pleased
After that He made the sun
And the moon for two main reasons
For one, to make night and day
For two, to mark the seasons
Next He sprinkled starry glitter
All across the skies
He knows each star by name
Sheesh, no one’s that wise
“Let the waters swarm with fish”
He said, and they appeared
“Let the skies be filled with birds”
And bam, they were here
He had already planned ahead
The animals came now
Lions, tigers, bears
Dogs, cats, and cows
But there was something still missing
In His amazing masterpiece
“Ah,” He said to himself.
“People are what it needs.”
In His very own image
He created a man from dust
But he needed a companion,
Someone he could trust
So when Adam was asleep
He took a rib from him
And out of that single rib
He formed Eve, his wife and friend
So who is this Creator
Of the universe and sun?
Look it up in Genesis.
He’s in verse number one.
But He didn’t stop creating
How do I know that’s true?
The answer is so simple
Because God created YOU.
Thanks again, Emii and all who congratulated me! I'm glad everyone enjoyed it! :D

g2g: eve ain't evil.
Hey you guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days. It's a crazy life, but I'm just fine. I got everything I've always wanted, living the dreams...Hannah Montana moment. :)
THIS IS THE OFFICIAL KICK OFF FOR G2G THE BIBLE STUDY! I'm sooo excited about it! Because honestly, I'm learning right along with ya. Of course we all know the basic, Sunday School story of Adam and Eve. Eve ate the fruit, gave some to Adam--yada, yada, yada. But there's a lot more to Eve's story. So let's start from the beginning.
Along time ago (in a land far, far away. from me, that is :D) a really, really awesome God made the universe. And the really, really awesome thing was, He spoke it all into existence. Pretty awesome, I know. :) Back on track...on the sixth day, God made a man, Adam. God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. It was beautiful; animals, flowers, and trees of every kind. Paradise pretty much. But the Lord warned him, "You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden-except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die."
Although Adam had his furry friends, he was still lonely, and he needed a companion. So when Adam was sleeping, God took a rib from him and created a woman. Betcha know who that is!
The serpent was the shrewdest (or most clever) that God had created.
One day (or should I say, "once upon a time"?), the serpent asked the woman, "Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?"
"Of course we may eat from the trees in the garden," the woman replied. "It's only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, 'You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die."
"You won't die!" the serpent replied to the woman. "God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil."
Well, long story short, Eve ate the fruit, then convinced Adam to eat the fruit, and like the serpent said, their eyes were opened. And not in a good way. They realized they had sinned, and hid from God.
And God cursed the serpent, but he also punished the woman.
He said to the woman,
“I will sharpened the pain of your pregnancy,
and in pain you will give birth.
And you will desire to control your husband,
but he will rule over you.”
So was Eve evil? No, she wasn’t. Satan just lied to her, and she sinned. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
Some girls ask, “What if she hadn’t of sinned? We would’ve lived happily ever after in the Garden of Eden, and never have to endure this life.” But that’s not true. I would’ve sinned. Someone before me would’ve sinned too. Nobody’s perfect, I gotta work it...sorry, another Hannah Montana moment
But seriously, nobody’s perfect. Not me, not you, not Eve. So if you take anything away from this, remember,
We all have eaten bad fruit.
Eve was just the first one to try it.

be their voice.
I’ve been wanting to do a post on this for a long time, but I knew it was risky, since it’s a very—uh, heated—topic. But it’s wrong. And we need to put an end to it. Over 100,000 babies lose their lives to abortion every single day. Sweet, innocent, living creatures of God. And I don’t like it when people tear them into tiny pieces and throw them in the garbage. You shouldn’t have that choice. PERIOD.
Even David knew how precious life was, and that was waaayyy before ultra-sound technology...Psalm 139:13 says, “For You created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Another reference—Genesis 1:27, “God created man in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female, he created them.”
This girl believes it with all her heart...
Do YOU?
I'm asking you to join me in a national protest against abortion on October 20, 2009. That's tomorrow. You only have to be silent for a mere 24 hours. For more info go to http://www.silentday.org/.

g2g: the Bible study.
Have you taken TSL (Texting as a Second Language)? I'm not the best teacher ever, but I'll give ya a quick lesson...
LOL = Laugh Out Loud
LYLAS = Love Ya Like A Sis
G2G = Got 2 Go
One I made up...PLC = Peace, Love, and Christ :)
Ya know what I mean. But G2G no longer stands for "Got 2 Go". Well, not here, anyway! It stands for "Girl 2 Girl", a new Bible study I'm starting. It's all about women throughout the Bible--starting with Eve and ending up with...who knows? Since sometimes it seems like (well, to me) the Bible has nothing to do with what's going on in our lives, I'm going to compare my life with theirs. Like the trials we face, the people we encounter. Stuff like that. So if you're interested, stop by whenever and check it out!

randomness friday the 1st!
This was actually started by Prism @ agirlofmanycolors.blogspot.com, but since a lot of other bloggers are giving it a try, I thought I would, too! :) Here's what's happening in my life...
Books I'm reading: All of them are by Melody Carlson. What can I say? I'm a huge fan. As of right now, I'm reading the first novel in "The Secret Life of Samantha McGregor" series. It's so intriguing, I seriously can't seem to put it down!
Music I'm jamming to: Right now, Meredith Andrews. She's a newer Christian singer, but she has some amazing songs. "You're Not Alone" and "You Invite Me In" are just two of my faves. Click HERE to visit her official site!
In the World of Blogging: I'm getting ready to start a series of posts called G2G (not "got 2 go" though. "girl 2 girl"). It's a devotion about women throughout the Bible...I'll post more info about that later though...
Writing about: Will and Zoey! Who else? And for my Kickin' It readers: NO WAY I'm not gonna stop writing about Zoey. I'm still working on Chapter 4, and I didn't want you to get bored. So I posted a little bit of God's Will...be on the look out for the rest of Chapter 4!
I'm praying: For Beau, this kid I know. He got shot and he's in the hospital. And Chris, a Dad and a husband, who got diagnosed with colon cancer. And Ellie. For more info on her, check out girlsofhope.blogspot.com. And mainly for people who haven't accepted Christ.
I'm hoping: To get all A's on my report card! They come out this coming week...yikesters!
Sweet Shirt I Saw: It read, "Life is a maybe. Death is for sure. Sin is the cause. And Christ is the cure."
Can't wait till: This afternoon...my cousin's coming over! :)
I'm loving: Life in general! Which includes...my family, my friends...and most importantly, my Savior.

Sorry girls! This has nothing to do with anything, but I needed an easy link to this video for my LS (life skills) project, so I decided to post it on my blog. It's supposed to show all the different cliques--the band geeks, the jocks, the populars...ya know. But anyway, I'll be trying out "randomness friday" for the first time this week, so stay tuned!

a poem for english...
Today I took a tranquil walk
Down a winding country road,
It was long and dusty there
With miracles untold.
Chestnut-colored houses
Side by side they stood,
With gently-smoking chimneys
And the smell of burning wood.
The sky was periwinkle
While the autumn leaves did stir,
The sun was rising peacefully
As a sparrow’s song I heard.
In the air hung the scent
Of a spicy, pumpkin pie,
A dog was dozing lazily
On a wooden porch nearby.
The velvet grass beneath my feet,
The breeze blowing in my hair,
It made me feel revived, relaxed,
And without a care.
The honey-colored daffodils
Were gone for winter’s stay,
But they’ll be back again, real soon
When springtime comes to play.
The harvest was so bountiful,
Pumpkins, corn, and wheat.
I can almost taste some dressing
And that good ol’ turkey meat.
So this old path reminds me
To be thankful on life’s way,
Money can’t buy memories,
So make your own today!
It was long and dusty there
With miracles untold.

Side by side they stood,
With gently-smoking chimneys
And the smell of burning wood.

wash feet: set His example.
Okay, so my mom works at a chiropractic office and they offer foot baths. I’m not sure how much they cost, but lots of people pay to get their feet cleaned by this foot bath-thing that’s supposed to get rid of all the toxins and bacteria in/on your feet. The results make you want to puke. Ya see, I was going to post a picture of what it ends up looking like, but I decided to do you (and me) a favor. I put a picture of a cute little rubber ducky floating in bath water instead. Usually, the water is like really dark brown or almost black. Or as Zoey Davis would say, “Double ew!” (that was for my Kickin’ It readers :) ) But seriously, it ends up resembling car oil or tar or something rather than water with a little bit of dirt in it.
You’re probably like “Anna, where are you going with all this?” Don’t worry, I’m getting there. Jesus washed the feet of the disciples, remember? And think about how nasty their feet would be. The people that come to my mom’s office don’t walk dust roads in sandals for their livelihood. So let’s just say the disciples feet were triple ew. Jesus still washed their feet without any complaining. Peter tried to stop him. I mean, since he is the Son of God and everything.
Jesus replied, “Unless I wash you, you won’t belong to me.”
Peter exclaimed, “Then wash my hands and head as well, Lord, not just my feet!”
After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, “Do you understand what I was doing? You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord’, and you are right, because that’s what I am. And since I, you Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each others feet.”
So...are you gonna set His example? Wash feet. Paint toenails. Give pedicures. Love others.

from the book nook: mixed bags.
Hey, sisters! :) Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, but I've been really busy with lots of school stuff. But in the mist of my hectic life, I always find time to read. I even have a whole corner to my room devoted to my hobby! My friends and I call it "The Book Nook", so I decided to name my book review-posts after it. Anyway, I just finished Melody Carlson's Mixed Bags. It's the first book in the Carter House Girls series, and on a scale of 1-10, I give it a 15! It was really intriguing (did I spell that right?) and even had a dash of romance. So if you're looking for a good read, look no longer! Mixed Bags is must.
Till next time,
anna :)

sisters? you mean we're related?
“We are family, I’ve got all my sisters with me. Yeah, yeah, yeah...” I know you’ve all probably heard the past hit by Sister Sledge. But I’m not just talking about your sisters that you cross paths with everyday. How about you’re sisters who’ve walked the path to the cross? I have a half sister, Brittany, and I absolutely love her to death. She recently said “I do” this past June, and is now happily married to my brother-in-law, Jeremy. Then you have my best friends—Nikki, Lily, Makenzie, Lindsey, Sarah, Kaylynn, and Millie. They’re all like my sisters, too. But I have other sisters. Long lost sisters I can’t wait to meet someday. Ephesians 2:19 states, “So now you Gentiles (Which is what I am because I’m not Jewish) are longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.” So if you’re one-hundred-percent-amen sure you’ve accepted Jesus as your Lord, we’re related. That means I have millions of brothers and sisters across the world...awesome isn’t it? It’s not always easy being a Christian, especially being a teenage girl. You see at school on a daily basis. Alcohol, drugs, sex—everyone’s doing it, right? Wrong. There ARE other Christian girls out there, facing the same situations you are. Proverbs 17:17—A friend loves at all times, and a brother (or sister!) is born for adversity. So when life gets rough, remember to stay tough. And we CAN do it...together. Because we’re not just average sisters. We’re sisters in the Savior.
